Verizon FiOS outage in Grapevine Texas

Our Verizon FiOS service has been down since Tuesday 1/24 @ 2:30PM and is still down Wed 1/25 7:30AM. I called Customer Service tech support and they told me it was due to a cut in the fiber cable. They did not give me an estimated up time. I asked to be transferred to the Sales Dept. to see about making an adjustment to my bill (they tack on a late fee if so much as one day late). Of course I was hung up on "during the transfer". How's that for Customer Service?

I speak from experience on this one.  You will automatically get a credit to your account for the days that you are without service.  That has consistently happened for me every time over the years and I'm sure that will be the same result for you.

All 3 of my services went out on Wednesday night of last week but were up and running again only 2 days later.  After going through so much run around being told that I would only be given an all day appointment and being put on hold multiple times for nothing, I was presently surprised when I finally got an answer.  It was an outage in my area so I wasn't the only one and I got a call from the tech working on the problem who told me that it was a damaged wire that would be replaced by the next day and sure enough, he was right about that.  Give it a couple of days because if it's an outside damaged wire or cable, it will just have to be replaced and since you're not the only one being affected, then that definitely goes in your favor and at least you don't need to stay home for that.  There is power in numbers when it comes to that.  A couple of days is really not that bad.  Years ago I used to have problems like this drag out for days longer than that.

I agree that the communication stinks.   If you lost the connection in the middle of a transfer, your call was probably dropped but I can relate to the frustration of that too and having to start all over again when you don't have the time.
