Verizon killed my front lawn

Message 1 of 13

I just replanted my lawn 2 weeks ago and the contractors putting in fios for the neighborhood destroyed all the new grass today as well as a big track of remaining healthy lawn. I can't ask for help through the Contact Us website since I'm not a Verizon customer and there is no option in the decision tree for property damage. Is this how Verizon does business?

Hi davedude123

I'm sorry to hear about your damage. We'll see if an agent can reach out to you, either in private message, or through the email you used in registering for the forum.

Hi-  I am not a Verizon customer, but they dug-up my yard for Fios customers in my area and damaged the grass and broke my inground sprinkler system.  Who do I contact for help?  I can already feel that this is going to be a nightmare process of being on the phone with voice response systems for hours.  Ugh!!!

Hi scottsho

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases".
There you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.

Fios is being installed in my neighborhood this week. While I started out excited to get rid of comcast, now, I dread this week. Verizon has painted their installation lines directly through my apple trees. Like ____ tree____ .

I tell you what, if you touch my trees, you will have to change the name of your company to Mike's wireless and residential and we will change fios to Mios.

You put your little flier on everyones door and expect them to welcome the destruction that follows. Not me. There is no 20' wide easement running 4 different directions through my yard.

It has taken me buying 4 year old trees and then waiting an additional 2 years to get them to this point (of actually getting fruit) and I will be {word filter avoidance} if you tear them up and then plant an apple in the spot and call it good.

Try me.

The "lines" you are probably referring to were not painted by Verizon.  They are placed on properties by other subcontractors according to local municipal codes to mark existing subterranean services.  Their purpose is to prevent damage when other underground services are later added.

As Roseann Rosannadanna might have said: "Nevermind."

Oh, there are the regular markings for power and water. These arent them. My wife watched a guy get out of the white verizon truck and mark bright orange lines thru our yard. This was 2-3 days after the county (miss utility) marked the utility lines.

Sorry sir, but even if you were a Verizon customer (as I  am) . The trouble reporting system is designed to make one psychotic. CHECK THIS OUT! Verizon severed my irrigation pipes (2)

Verizon (VZ) installed my residential cable. The cable installer (different then the system installer) reported that he severed 2 irrigation pipes but not to worry , "I have repaired them". Now it happens that I was not using the irrigation sytem at the time so I had no way to check since it would incur a system blow out the following Fall. This Spring I had the system turned on and....yes the broken pipes had not been repaired, I went through the trouble reporting schema and got a trouble Ticket Number. A subsequent follow up revealed the ticket was closed. I got a 2nd Trouble Ticket number and have not been able to check status WHY? I don't know. Now Check this! If your ticket has a character o or 0 it is in jepordy, I received my number by email  and in the heading it appears as {edited for privacy}:  here is cap O and here is tne number 0. This has the effect of rendering at least half the trouble tickets (containing an O or a 0) dormant or scrapped. A ticket may be cancelled without notice.

I was promised a call from a real live person and now it has been 22 days ..I'm still waiting.
