WHY assume cell number as primary contact phone number.

I just finished an upgrade of my FIos service, and was puzzled to have them keep contacting me on my cell phones.  Since I retired, I am rarely using my cell phone and don't even have it on much of time.  I was surprised to see when I reviewed my VERIZON account profile that the Cell number is assumed as the contact number.  Only way i see to stop them from contacting me that way is to put up an alternate phone number(actually my FIOS Digital Voice numer) and list me cell number as NONE.

 

Very strange as I know it wasn't always this why.

Hey TNS. This a guess on my behalf. Most people prefer cell phone contact over home phone. I can say from personal experience no one calls me on my home phone, except telemarketers. Having a cell phone is like a home phone that is with you every where you go. Are you able to edit the phone number on the profile there?
