pop up's

Every time I turn on my computer I get a pop up that says: Verizon Games on Demand download Now?  or Later?  Also it pops up like every half hour.

I don't want the games at all,  and would like to get rid of the pop up.  I am getting soooo tired of having to click on the X only to have the pop up come back.  Why are the only two choices to click on "now or later"  I want to click on "NO" and have the pop up just go away.  Is that so hard?

Uninstall any Verizon software from the Add/Remove programs section of your PC

It sounds lke you have the Games on demand feature on your account, but never downladed or used it...

May want to call Billing and check to see if that is the case... If you truly dont want it, have it remoceed from the account, all together, and maybe even get some money back for being charged for somethign you didnt want or use

I have already tried this.  Since the games were never loaded in to the PC, the message I get back, is that there is nothing to remove.  I did also call Verizon and I made sure I was not being charged for something I don't want.  My only problem is that damned pop up.  It wants me to down load games now or later.  And it will also ask if I want it to come back in 3 days.  But I can't get rid of it for good!  It is something I guess I will have to get used to.  But I just don't like it.  I guess when the Verizon people told me I would not get pop ups, they were talking about the other guy, not theirs.  Thanks anyway for the post.

Sounds like you have a downloader in one of your start up folders. Look in the start up folder under start/allprgrams, try deleting anything you find in there that links to verizon and reboot. If you don't find anything in that folder, open a run line and type in msconfig. WHen the window opens click the start up tab. In there you can cross referance all the programs with www.porcesslibrary.com and you should be able to find it. Processlibrary will tell you what each proces does and if it is safe to remove from the pc.
