remote control for laptops

I am looking for software to remotely control my familys pcs for when they take their laptops and need assististance. This is not a frequent need but it does happen at least once every couple of months.

I'm not sure if Verizon offers anything like that, but there's a free program called TeamViewer that might suit your needs.

I am a fan of TeamViewer. There are several options available, including a free option for personal use which is all you should need.

 

Another option is LogMeIn - https://secure.logmein.com/. Again free for personal use.

 

And there are others available, although I have never tried any other than Teamviewer and LogMeIn. For simplicity of use, I suggest you look at TeamViewer first.

I installed and tried  TeamViewer on a pair of laptops.  This was exactly what I was looking for.
