i have never ever experienced such long wait times on a phone

Assuming you're talking about Vz customer service ... I hear this on this board from time to time, but it's almost always from 1 time posters.

 

The thing is, I never can duplicate that experience.    Today, the funny thing is, I had to call them (around lunch time no less) because I have a client (I do computer consulting for small businesses) with a Fios router with a bad LAN port on it and need it replaced -- called the 800-number, answer the navigation menu options to get me to Fios -> Tech Support, waited about 20 seconds -- got a very polite gentlemen who spoke in clear articulate english who walked thru a couple of diagnostics to make sure I had tried them and it wasn't something simple like a bad cable and then said "yep, sounds like a bad router, we'll ship one out overnight" and the he proceeded to confirm the shipping details.

 

YMMV, but I certainly can't complain about that service.

This is why I had to ask who they were complaining about?  I never expereinced long wait times with Verizon.

 

I had to call Cablevision to cancel service for my mother-in-law and waited on hold for 15 minutes to speak to someone.

I am still waiting after a hour!!! I want to test how long that I will wait till the person who are in charge to reply my phone. I ordered triple play for 79.99for 12 months a couple of months ago. Now the bill comes in at 170+/month. They said that I changed something. I asked what I changed, the lady on the phone could not answer, so I asked her to get me the manager, then I was putting on hold forever. I was asked to opt for an option of 24 hours waiting for the manager to call me back. 

 

i am about to terminate my service with verizion!!! I had a client that I am shoping the service for. I was thinking to get verizon at first to get $100 rebate. Now I changed my mind.

Having called before and having had waited for almost 2 hours to no answer I learned that what option you choose is what will get your call routed and answered faster. After giving up I called the next day, chose a different option and got an answer within 1 minute at the local office. Go figure.

I would say that 98% of the time I call either tech support or billing, I average at least 30 minutes wait time...usually more.  I am sick of it and Verizon doesn't seem to care about it.

You could always start using Gethuman.com   they have a callback service where you don't have to wait, and they ring you back when they get a rep.   

 

Service is free from what I can tell.

It was the most horrible experience with Verizon tech support waiting time. I just installed fios but they forgot to put battery into the battery power box that caused beep every 15 minutes and I also didn't feel the speed is faster than my previous Comcast had.

 

 So I tried call Verizon tech support. I called 4 times and patiently waited over one hour each time and then eventually I lost patient. The fake human voice said waiting time is about 10 minutes but actually was over one hour. What kind of service Verizon has! It is the worst tech support I have experienced in my entire 50 years.

 

What  {word filter avoidance} management mind-set that Verizon leaders have!!! I want to  {word filter avoidance} off Verizon business!
