Screwed on early termination with a move

I moved from PA to MA, and because those are different billing areas, Verizon is treating the move as an early termination  and new activation.

They have decided to bill an ETF and an installation fee.  I've been on hold waiting to talk to a supervisor for 20min.

This policy is criminal.  Has anyone had luck getting Verizon to be reasonable in handling an interstate move?

I'm moving to a state in two months that doesn't have fios.

I currently also have verizon wireless for cell service that has the contract ended.

The only work around I was able to come up with to deal with the fios ETF is to cancel the verizon wireless cell service

now, and sign up with straight talk phone service. That will save me $50 a month.

5 Months afer I move, the money I saved on phone service will cover the Fios ETF fine.

I'm not going to even bother trying to get fios to waive the etf fine.  In the end I win.

I'm not sure verizon thought through this new etf stipulation out clearly.

Did you speak to billing about no FiOS available where you are moving?
