I've been given a different answer every time i ask a verizon rep this question....Do you HAVE to have a home phone line to get the DSL. I have a home phone line now, but would rather not have one at all..as i never use my home phone.
No. It's commonly called "naked DSL". Note that Verizon routinely bundles POTS and DSL services and gives you a discount off the pair of services when bill together -- so don't be surprised if you look and see that adding DSL to a house with telephone services costs one price and adding the same speed service to a house without telephone service costs about $10 more per month. Comcast and other providers do a similar thing with their Internet offerings as well (you end up getting about a $10 per month discount if you also have at least a basic TV package, etc.)
