Continuously Re-Activating DSL Account
eoincunningham
I've had my DSL account for a few years. Yesterday, my browsers suddenly began telling me that any HTTPS connection I attempted to make were no longer private, and that they couldn't verify the security certificates of any site I visited. Suspecting a router problem, I performed a full reset.
Now, the only page I can reach is https://activate.verizon.net
Every time I go through the activation process, I'm told it's successful. However, attempting to access any other page then brings me back to "Activate Your High Speed Internet!" again.

When you factory reset the modem, it enabled a software walled garden. Log into your modem using the following steps and disable it.

1: Visit http://192.168.1.1 and log in using the username of admin and the password of password

2: Change the Admin password if prompted

3: Log into the modem again when prompted (assuming #2 was needed)

4: Visit either http://192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect OR http://192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect.htm

5: Click the "Disable" button

You should now be back online.

You will need to do this each time you reset your modem, so please avoid doing a factory reset unless you need to 🙂
