D-Link DSL-2750B crashes daily, keeps routing traffic

We previously used another DSL router non-stop for years until a nearby lightning strike fried the ethernet ports.

Verizon sent us a D-Link DSL-2750B.  Once a day, the router stops issuing IPs, stops responding to web browsers pointed at 192.168.1.1, and stops looking up IPs.  It keeps routing traffic but all attached computers eventually stop working as their IPs expire and the router fails to issue new ones.  I have to turn off the router and turn it back on for it to start working again.

Software Version:

5.4.12.1.44.2.1
