DHCP or PPPoE?

How can I tell if my Verizon DSL service is DHCP or PPPoE? I've heard it can be either/or depending on where you live.

I'm inn Coram, NY (zip is 11727)

you can find the dhcp ppoe thing, by opening up a web browser, and going to 192.168.1.1 and logging in there.   it will tell you what it's configured for on the main page.
