I’ve had Verizon DSL for @ 6 weeks now. Seemed fine for awhile, then:
Did (2) different ping tests today.
Average download speed = 0.69 Mbps
Average upload speed = 0.027Mbps
Test conducted at 4:15pm PDT
Modem is Westell A90-750015-07
Filter on phone line
Computer is 8 months new with Win 7 64 bit.
What will it take to get to the advertised speeds of 3Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload that Verizon offers?
There was some recent heavy storms in my area that knocked out both the internet & phone service for about 8 hours one day. Coincidence?
How come Charter can offer DSL with download speeds of 12Mbps for the same price of Verizon at 3Mbps?
Any help will be appreciated. I did sign up for month to month, so I can cancel at any minute. And will

there are a lot of possibilities with slow speed on DSL. If you could give some more info that would be great.
are you wired, or wireless.
What are your tranceiver stats?
You can visit »192.168.1.1/transtat.htm or visit »192.168.1.1 , go to System Monitoring, Advanced Monitors, and choose Transceiver Statistics.
And run a test at http://speedtest.verizon.net after your test, there is a link that says show more details or something like that. click that and cut and paste those details as well.
