Delays when opening websites, and Fancast.com does not work at all.

I just switched from comcast to Verizon DSL a few days ago.

I'm having a problem with a delay (from 5 to 50 seconds) between clicking a link, and webpages loading.

Allow me to clarify a bit: with my old cable connection, pages began loading within a fraction of a second after I clicked a link, and would finish loading in whatever time it took to download all the content. Now, pages wiat anywhere from 5 seconds to 50 seconds before showing *any* sign of loading *at all*. After a page starts loading (which is after the delay), everything else loads quite quickly.

Since I'm in a transitional period, I still have the cable turned on for the moment, and when I switch my Mac back to cable, the delay is gone. back to DSL and the delay is back. (Seems like pretty good evidence that the problem is NOT in my Mac.)

Also, I notice that on DSL I cannot view tv shows on fancast. AT ALL. It sticks at the loading page indefinately. (I tried earlier tonight to watch bones. Gave it half an hour to load, and it was still stuck. I switched ethernet wires back to comcast cable, and fancast laoded the show within a few seconds. plugged verizon DSL back in, and tried to watch the Simpsons, and nothing's loading.)

Again, I think I have pretty solid evidence that the trouble's not in my Mac, my browser (Firefox), or the like.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I fixed it!

All I had to do was switch the order of the two DNS servers in my TCP/IP settings under system preferences.

Evidently, the primary DNS is ***SEVERELY*** overloaded.

Pages now load in a reasonalble amount of time, and Fancast now works correctly.

The router and modem are integrated in one box.

It's made by Westell.

Model number is: A90-750015-07

Just in case it's needed, my computer is a Powermac Dual G5 running at 2.7 GHz with 1GB RAM. I'm Running MacOS X 10.4.11. My default browser is FireFox. (But I experience the same problem even if I open Safari.

If any of you folks need more info, I'll be happy to provide it.

Thanks.
