Domain Forwarding Problem

Rookie question: I built my first-ever web site using My Web Space under my DSL plan but did not like the random user ID that Verizon inserts into the URL.  So today I purchased a domain name through Verizon YourDomain (Basic Plan) for the sole purpose of forwarding all traffic from the new name to my existing web site.  However, when I request Domain Forwarding in Site Control, I get the following error:

 

    "It appears that you already have an active web hosting service for this domain. Domain Forwarding is incompatible with web hosting, and cannot be added at this time."
      
    What do I need to do to enable domain forwarding?
