Endless wait for service connection, no help from Verizon

So we ordered high speed internet service on Sept. 28.  Still don't have it.  We've gotten endless excuses, heard numerous blatant lies, and no one will tell us when or even if we'll ever get connected. 

Has anyone found the secret to getting Verizon to actually respond with something other than "I'm sorry you're experiencing this" and to get them to stop telling me things that turn out to be absolutely false?
