Firewall blockage by Westell 327w modem?

OK, here's the setup.

I am trying to pull in Sardegna Radio. The stream address is:

http://s8.mediastreaming.it:7080/

From my work computer, it comes in loud and strong. When I plug the
URL into Firefox, I get a "Shoutcast status" page that confirms this.

But it's not working from any of my home computers, or, crucially, the
Linksys box. All I see is "Server has timed out" or some such. There is no "Firewall has blocked XXX" as the software firewalls offer.

Each computer has a software firewall. On the Win2K box, I've tried
stopping the firewall and still no joy. The only common thing between the machines (separate3 OS and software firewalls) is the Westell 327w modem/router.

I wonder if the Westell Verizon DSL modem/router is blocking it in the
"hardware firewall" it claims to have.

Does this make sense? What should I change to see these guys?
I'm looking in the Modem/router manual, and it's not very helpful. Nor was either www.westell.com or the Verizon site.

It's confirmed. I switched the hardware firewall off (pressing on through "Warning!! Any changes made in this section may affect your devices performance and configuration."), and they came in fine.

Now, how do I open the router to the streams I want (there are 1700 of them, at apparently random port assignments) without letting the bad guys in?

How come no one else has squalked about this?

http://portforward.com/

Tha't the response given by "Matt" at Verizon tech support. He said that Verizon has no information on opening up ports for interactive web access. I told him I'd found nothing on the Verizon web site, and he said tehy'd reported that to "corporate" a lot.

Apparently this is a little hurdle faced by every user that uses streaming audio.

Now I see why there's the little note at the top of the page: "When writing your message, remember to keep the language clean."

Have a nice day.

Well. http://portforward.com has a lot of info, but I didn't see how to open random port addresses so suit internet radio stations all over the world.

In the event, I just dialled the security level of the Westell 327W back to "minimal," and they all came in (!!!?!).

I just hope I don't cause the end of western civilizaton when a hacker takes over my internet radio.
