Inadequate security

Just received D-Link router DSL-2750B. Unable to connect using WPA or WPA2. Works with only WEP (and passphrase must be limited to the usual 10 characters).Material with the router indicates that WPA or WPA2 should be used. I don't think that WEP (hackable in 5 minutes) or the type of passphrase is adequate security. Verizon agent (chat) tried to solve problem but concluded that WEP was only option. Company says they no longer support this router and to contact Verizon.

Give the router a factory reset (Be aware, you will need to set it up again!), but before you do that make sure you are running the latest drivers for your Wireless devices, if these are only computers having the issues. For the security, WPA2-AES is the only thing it should be set to. Don't set the router to WEP (even though it works, but try to avoid it) or WPA as this is a Wireless N router. Mixed mode as a result should also be avoided. Just WPA2-AES.

The D-Link may also have some settings for Wireless compatibility. See if you can play around with that to see if anything gives you adequite service with WPA2 encryption.
