Inbox email disappearing

Has anyone had this problem.  I was replying to an email and all of my inbox email disappeared including the email I was responding to.

are u storing the emails on the server or are you storing them locally?

Let's troubleshoot:

  1. You are obviously using Verizon's mail service. What mail portal are you using: Verizon, Verizon Yahoo!, Verizon AOL or Verizon Windows Live?
  2.  Do you use the webmail or an external app. to get and send your mail?

Oh - I am not all that familiar with as I have Macintoshes. I run Verizon Yahoo! which supports Mac to a point. Does Windows Live have unlimited storage and look like the MSN Hotmail webmail or is it on Verizon's webmail?
