Internet Keeps Dropping After Speed Upgrade

So I recently I upgraded my download speed from ~7 to ~15 mbps and had a new router installed.

 

Now the problem is my internet connection drops (both wired ethernet connection and the wireless) at times. It happens every other day and causes intermittent connection.

 

I can use the troubleshoot wizard on my Windows 8.1 laptop to regain internet connection but there are times where the router must be turned off and back on since the DNS server is not responding to regain access to the internet.

 

This has only started happened after upgrading the speed and it is very annoying as certain times, if I download something that is 1 GB for example, I can expect to lose connection midway or after the download.

 

I'm starting to regret the speed upgrade because of the constant drop of internet connection, I was rather happy with slower speed with no problems of 9 YEARS. 9 YEARS!

Hi TheDialUpKid,

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and scroll down the page to an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name located above your post, or at the top right of this page.

Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, you may subscribe to the case. At the top right of your support case there is a gear icon which provides a drop down menu with support case options. Click that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
