Internet running really slow, dropping signal repeatedly

Hey, I'm having trouble with my DSL Power Plan internet. It fluctuates between

to

http://www.speedtest.net/result/699418416.png

all the way up to 2.68mps download and 0.68 upload

Then it does not stay connected for more then 1.5 hours. Having this many problems just defeats the purpose of having internet if I can't use it properly.

Hi ehillsjr, sorry you're having so much trouble with your internet. I have a few questions about the way you are connecting. Are you connecting wired or wireless. Do you notice anything different about the modem when you lose connection? Do you have filters on all your phone jacks?

If you connect wirelessly it may be wireless intereference, in which case a wireless channel change in the modem could help. If you connect wired, there could be a number of things at the source. The modem firmware may need to be updated, ethernet cabling could be at fault or it could be a matter of optimizing your settings at: verizon.net/speedoptimizer.
