Load Balancing Westell 7500s

I have a client who just got a second DSL and I need to put both routers on the same subnet. Both routers are 7500s and I tried setting the new modem's VC to bridge and disabling DHCP but the connection goes down. Does anyone have an explicit set of instructions for this? I'm going to presume something has to be set in the first router, too, so it knows to load balance to the second dsl.
Thanks and kind regards,
Jack
