This has been occuring for the past 3 months. Verizon's "specialists" have brushed it off as a modem issue and has sent the exact same one I already own and hoped that it would fix the issue. Of course it did not. Then they tried switching the lines (they assume we're **bleep** so they try not to go into any details so I'm not quite sure what they actually did other than what they have told me) or so they say as they said they would send a technician over to check but no one came and I received a call later in the evening saying that they had came and 'fixed' it. Of course it did not. That was the first month. I've thus far been fairly complacent as I'm just tired of having to have the same exact conversation with Verizon's 'helpful' team of operators. They belittle you with statements like "sir, are you aware that if someone else on your network is using the internet you'll experience a slower speed?" Honestly I've been receiving verizon's DSL package for almost a decade now and you think just now your comment is going to be that inspiration that gave me that ahah moment?
Long story short
Sick and fed up with whatever this is.
I'm planning to possibly change my ISP if the next time they offer a brilliant solution that doesn't work.
Or if anyone has had the same problem in the past and has found a solution
No it's not a virus either as I've tested a multitude of devices by themselves. I've also tried 3 different modems so I highly doubt that's the issue. Also since they 'changed the lines' I've been experiencing a slower ping. I use to get a ping of 15 for servers based in california and now I'm getting 30 lowest. It's not too much of an issue as it's fairly unnoticeable when playing a online game but it's noticeable nonetheless. Not a huge issue though. I'd just like my old bandwidth back between those hours. It's very annoying when you go from being able to use the internet to slow snail pace. If just anyone decides to use the internet besides me then we basically just lag each other to the point that let's say facebook takes atleast ten seconds to load.
I've resorted to using my Iphone and broadcasting it's cellular data to my computer in order to get by during those hours. It's utterly ridiculous.
