It's 4:30 am Sunday internet has been out since 2:30 am and any way I try to contact verizon just says to contact them during normal business hours, which will be Monday morning 8 am at the earliest. This seems a little ridiculous

There’s obviously going to be increased wait time during the current Covid-19 situation. You’re just going to have to stay on hold until you get through.

2:30AM is usually a maintenance period, so hopefully it was just that and Verizon has restored service for you by now. Otherwise, get on the phone right at 8AM and report trouble. Or try Verizon's social media accounts - they tend to be very helpful and can take more volume.
