Signal is good but disconnects often

Hi. I've been having this problem since our family first got the verizon DSL.

Everytime i call the customer service, they try to mess with my computer, which is NOT the problem, because other DSL services do not disconnect.

Almost everyday, the internet does not even last 5 hours with staying online. It always disconnects and reconnects. I think there is a problem with the modem and I requested verizon to send me a new or updated, but they always try to avoid it and say that it's the computer problem. Every person who brings their computer to my house has the problem with the DSL disconnecting so often. Settings have been changed FREQUENTLY by verizon and still no improvement. Help me out here.
