Switching over to newer DSL modem

Hello all,

I have a related post here in the forum, but I'd like to ask a slightly different question in hopes of resolving my issue:

I have an older Westell A90 DSL modem, and I'd like to replace it with a ActionTec GT704-WG that Verizon sent me a couple of years ago.

I tried to simply physically swap out the old modem with the new ActionTec modem, but the Verzon WAN side is not granting me authentication (I have a DHCP configuration, and not PPPoE).

What more do I need to do in order to replace the old Westell modem with the new ActionTec modem?
