Web site builder

 I am trying to password protect "my web site" without using site builder. I am uploading (FTP) my html files but site builder doesn't see the files even though the site posts on the internet. How can I control security to limit who can access my site otherwise?

Where it clearly has the WEB SPACE MONITOR, click details to see the files that exist.

Seeing my files is not the problem.  I want to password protect the site that I uploaded via
FTP.  As far as I can tell I can only password protect files that were created in SITEBUILDER.  Sitebuilder does not list the uploaded files even though the web space monitor shows the files.
