Wireless Speed

Greetings,

I am sure this question has been asked on a number of occasions, but here it goes. I recently upgraded to the FiOS Internet 75/35 and yet the router remains a G router from Verizon not capable of he 75 download speed if I am correct? Would not the router also need to be replaced as part of the upgrade to achieve the 75 Mbps download speed?

Thanks

The router you have now is plenty fine for speeds up to at least 100Mbps. The Wireless is the part that won't be capable of it. For this case to cut down on hassle, I would seriously just suggest buying a $30-$40 Wireless Access Point, or even another router to gut down into an Access Point so you can get the higher speeds Wirelessly. You can leave the ActionTec wireless on or off for support with older devices too if you do wish to do that.

What revision ActionTec do you have anyways? If it's Rev. F or newer, those are Wireless N, but the Rev. F will accomplish no more than 35-40Mbps Wirelessly.
