Xbox Networking

OK here's my situation:

I'm using VZW internet by USB on my laptop. I'm looking to hookup to Xbox Live. I would like to use my laptop to be the network server. In my Network Connections I went threw the setup wizard for XP to set it up. At the end it says that all PCs to be connected needs to run the setup CD, would this apply here? When I connect my LAN cable, it says limited connectivity, it does update the IP address, but I think its the default 169. address.

I was planning on connecting my Xbox with the LAN cable and using the laptop as the router, is this doable?

My other thought was to try and load the VZW software on the Xbox and plugin straight thru the USB port. In not even sure this is doable?

I'm new to Xbox, will I max out my 5GB rapidly?

Thanks.

I found this thread, but I still wasn't able to connect.

Still not sure if it needs a Auto IP or Manual on both the host PC and the Xbox.

#1 In the Xbox, I believe it is auto.

#2 On the PC, follow the directions as on http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ICS/serverbroadband.htm
