novice at this. Thanks for your help. Have a Westell Broadband box plugged into phone jack for my desktop computer. Daughter is buying a Macbook and want her to be able to work on it anywhere in the house-without spending a lot for a router. Or is what I have a router? Sorry and thanks.

The model number of the Westell would greatly help.

We found the Westell and MAC not compatible  - maybe the new units are better - it's been a 15 months since we switched to the Actiontec and things are a bit better
