hard drive continues to access when online

After installing a Westsell 7500 router to my dsl line, my hard drive continues to try to access something?  It repeats over and over again when the system is idle, but the computer is not in sleep mode.  It drives sounds like drrrrrrrr drrrrrr drrrrrr drrrrrr drrrrrr

Any ideas what this is and how to fix it? bob

Did you install this router using a CD provided with this router?

Can not recall if software came with install package.  Seems like I hooked it up and it downloaded the software automatically for installation?

I don't have any installation CD that I can find.
