after being on the phone for 1 hour with a verizon rep. going thru steps like disconnecting phone line, turning off modem, which changed my speed from 0.7 to 1.48 up then having them change my ip and change the speed from 1.48 to 1.35 down  they were giving me an excuse saying that my area only allowes 1.6 download and that it might have been changed since the issue started 3-4 weeks ago.. i used to get 3.3 down and pay 40 dollars a month..now i gotta be ok with 1.3 down and still pay 40 dollars a month?? seriously verizon...u guys are full of **bleep**...

is it a **bleep** excuse for them having problems with my internet or is it a true fact they just change speeds in certain areas in california...

What speed is your account actually provisioned for?

1.6 - 3.3 is what the first lady said.  After speaking with the rep I got forwarded to a tech specialist that was after I posted that.  She told me my area qualifies for a 3MB package and she is seeing some package lose on her side.  Sent out a technician for tomorrow. So we will see. Not very happy about this might end up switching providers...  why is it posting my stuff multiple times...rofl

Tech was just here and he ran several checks..everything was fine on my side. Cables on the outside had corrosion which apparently disturbed the signal so he changed em all out now im back to 2.8mb down and 0.7 up.  1 hour phone call and 1 hour tech isnt that bad.

Corrosion happens. As long as the line is back to where it should be and is remaining stable, then I suppose it's all set. If you'd like, you can supply some Transceiver Statistics to us to see if you can potentially get a higher speed on the line.
