Can I Have Router and Cable Box on Same Outlet?

I currently have my computers in one room and my cable box in another, but using separate coax cables/outlets. I'd like to have them both in one room, but the room I'd like to move them to only has one outlet. Is it possible to have both the router and the cable box hooked up to one outlet?

Any help is appectiated!

Hi Juliebee,

I believe the router requires a connection to a coax cable that splits directly off the main coax line. If you want to put both in the same room, I recommend you run a second coax line. This is what I have done in our computer room.

In short... YES.

Use a splitter for the coax and use the 120V outlet to power both.
