Allentown Pennsylvania Rescue Mission, 18101 was told 7/17/2013 THAT THERE IS A VERIZON OUTAGE TO MONDAY IS THIS TRUE?

A friends' wife works there and they have NOT HAD ANY PHONE SERVICE ALL DAY AND NOW VERIZON SAID NOT TO MONDAY SOMEONE DAMAGED SOMETHING AT THE HOCKEY RING THEY ARE BUILDING IS THIS TRUE?

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO RUN A MISSION WITHOUT PHONE SERVICE DOES VERIZON KNOW THERE IS AN OUTAGE IN ALLENTOWN PA AFFECTING SO MANY?
