I have an GE 28118 phone with an answer machine, I have turned off the answering machine and want to use Verizon Home Voice Mail.  Everytime I get a message, my phone displays " New Voice Message"  after checking my message the "New Voice Message never goes out, GE asked me if Verizon Voice service wa w/ FSK signaling.  Does anyone know.

The FSK Indicator Light is a special feature that must be added to Voice Mail in the former GTE states, but not sure in the former Bell Atlantic states, but  believe it is the same there. This makes it possible for the Indicator Light to work on your phone, but I am pretty sure you must add this individually and it is not part of the regular Voice Mail services - definitely not the Basic or Standard Voice Mail, not so sure about the One-Point Voice Mail.

Home voicemail service in fBA territory always included the stutter-dial-tone and the Message Waiting lamp indicators.  The Message Waiting lamp indicator is always activated/de-activated via FSK.
