Anyone know how to temporarily turn voice mail off? Last time we traveled for only a few days we had over 30 "missed calls" and messages we had to deal with on return. Six or seven Verizon agents now have been unable to help. Supposedly they eliminated the service but we just found it is still working. When we travel we do not want the phone answered and do not want calls forwarded...it's called "vacation" after all. The last agent I dealt with today tried to eliminate voice mail which then increased (!) our monthly payment. Anyone have any ideas? Voice mail seems to be designed for businesses, not residential users...never would have activated it if I knew what a pain in the neck it would be.
