I have a friend that is moving into my house that has a comcast number that he would like to keep. The number that I have on my bundle I don't use. But verizon said I would have to cancel my account and have my friend start up a new account. Is there any other ideas on how I could do this better so I don't have to cancel my account.
Sounds about right. Verizon seems to only be able to port a number if you already had it and your name will be on the account. More importantly, Verizon only ports Verizon numbers that are local to your central office. Unless that number from Comcast was originally a Verizon number, they can't or won't do it.
I had a Comcast number ported, but it was originally a Verizon number from my central office exchange.
