Long Distance Plans and per minute charges

I am a senior citizen on a tight budget and would like to pay for long distance calls as I make them, without having a monthly charge for a calling plan.  I cannot see what the per minute charge would be for long distance, state-to-state calls if I'm not on a plan, nor can I see that I have the ability to do away with a calling plan.  Without details I can't make a decision as to what would be best for me.  Anyone have answers?

The plan you want is called Single Rate LD.  In my state the plan has no monthly fee's or min usage fee's and is .12 a min.
