HELP!!!

All of a sudden I am not receiving incoming calls on my Landline.  When I call my line from my cell phone you just hear it ring and it jumps to voicemail.  Friends trying to call today just get a brief ring and then nothing.  What is going on?  Never had this happen before.

You either have a problem with your inside wiring or a problem in Verizon's network.

To determine which one it is, find either you're NID if you're a copper user or your ONT if you're a FiOS customer.  Bring a known, working wired phone.  You are going to plug the phone into the NID or ONT and see if the problem goes away.  You also need to check for dial-tone on the test phone.  If the problem goes away with the test phone, something is wrong with your wiring or one of your phones.  Otherwise, you need to contact Verizon directly (this is a peer-to-peer forum; no official Verizon support comes through here).

If you have a NID, follow these instructions:

If you have an ONT, follow these instructions:

http://www.verizon.com/support/residential/phone/homephone/general+support/troubleshooting+procedure...

Note that on some ONT's, all you have to do is plug in a phone to its jack.  The act of plugging in the phone will disconnect the inside wires.
