My messages used to go into my voice mail machine and now they go into the Verizon voice mail.  I want them to go back in my personal machine.  How do I do that?

You need to set the FiOS voice to answer with more rings than your answering machine.


We've got our answering machine set to answer in four rings and FiOS to answer in more than five rings.


The only time the FiOS voice mail kicks in is if we are on a phone call and because of that the call never reaches our answering machine.


You should be able to set the number of rings for FiOS voice mail through your FiOS digital voice account manager.

By contacting them it is possible to get the answering service removed from your account.
