Bought a house 30 yrs old and telephone jacks are that old.1 out of 5 work and i cannot find a repair #.Any help is appreciated

You can sign up for an inside wire maintance plan for a monthly fee with Verizon. The plan will cover existing jacks and wiring that are not working. The other option is you hire anyone of your choice to fix the wiring since the wires inside your home are deregulated.

Inside wiring is your responsibility.   I would contact a local reputable home contractor or handyman with knowledge of wiring for phone and cable to come out and do the repair work you require -- it'll probably be cheaper.  You could try calling the 1-800-Verizon number to see if this is a "fee based" service they offer, but it's not something that they are responsible for fixing as part of your phone service (basically, if the dial tone gets to the Dmark point -- little box typically outside your home near where all your utility services enter the home -- that's where their responsibility ends.
