HELP! Can't get anyone at Verizon to answer a phone. How long does it take for Verizon to port over my home phone number from my former cable providers? I just had FIOS triple-plan installed yesterday, and when I tried to cancel with the cable provider, they told me that Verizon has not completed the process of porting the number over, and that if I cancel my cable service, I will lose my home number. I don't want to lose the phone number, and I also don't want to pay for cable service I'm not using. Can someone help, please? Or give a phone number which will be answered by a human being??
