Removing Jack

Does anyone know how to remove/disconnect a wall jack.  Even though I have paid $1200 over the time I have been with Verizon for inside maintenance they want to charge me $90 to disconnect a wall jack.  There are two red wires and two green wires, how hard can it be.  If I remove them I can receive calls but can't call out.  Can you tell me how to do this.

What exactly do you mean?  If you remove the wires from this jack, you won't be able to make or receive calls.  Have you already uninstalled this jack, and are still unable to call out from another phone?

There are two scenarios...

The JACk you are talking about may piggyback to another jack. I have this in my kitchen. On the other side of the same wall in the living room is another jack.

If i disconnect the jack in the kitchen i need to connect the two greens together and then the two red wires together to make sure the living room jack continues to work. I would need to use marrettes or electrical tape to make sure the two pairs don't touch each other or any metal ground.

The fact you have 2 pairs may indicate this.

2nd Option is the jack is standalone. Disconnecting all wires and taping them off to make sure they don't touch each other and short out should have no impact on other jacks/phones in the house.
