Residential or Business?

I'm working with a Condo group to reduce the telephone line expense. The builder contracted with Verizon for CENTREX service during the construction. The association inherited 27 Centrex phone lines that are used only to provide fire and elevator alarm service and door access. This is an association of residences with overnight sleeping areas. This was the deciding factor between residential and business service. We do not conduct any business over the telephone lines. Does anyone have info on the qualification for residential service? Even if we are required to remain a business, we don't need anything but a POTS line. It has been a nightmare to find anyone at Verizon who is willing to discuss our situation. Is there a Customer Relations office at the corporate level that could be responsive?

So what is the trouble with changing your service from Centrex to POTS? Your business rep can't handle that?
