I don't have any information yet on the FDV rollout. Once VZ announces something, I will try my best to post it.

I don't think that anyone in Verizon is concerned that VOIP would signal that traditional phone service is dead. Traditional phone service is already on a downward trend without VOIP. For years we've heard that one of the biggest drains on Vz stock price has been landline loss. Each month, more and more customers are giving up their landlines and are using wireless phones and voip services instead. The company is doing everything it can to stem the landline loss, but traditional phone service is certainly not seen as the "future" of Verizon.

Give them time. The 500 pound gorilla always move slowly.
I read somewhere recently that wireless homes has outpaced landline homes for the first time last year. That should be a wakeup call if they aren't already awake.
The CEO placed the big FiOS bet several years back and he's still there. Shareholders agree with what he's doing because the vz stock isn't as battered as some of the other stocks.

Any new information as to availability? I live in one of the early build out areas, Columbia MD, and Fios Voice was advertised as available as late as February, but doesn't seem to be available any more, or at least not taking any orders.
I had to change my screen name from PL21046 because the forum no longer recognized my sign in.
