I get the stutter dial tone all the time without any voicemails. How do I get rid of it?
Hey greenmach, log into your voicemail server and use the prompts to exit the system competely to see if helps you get rid of the sutter dial tone.
I have fios and I was getting that stutter tone for weeks, but had no voicemails. I kept checking my voice mails on the tv and at verizon.com.
THEN, I accessed my voice mail using my home phone by dialing *86. Lo and behold the prompts took me to a very brief 2 sec message that was not being indicated on the TV or the website.
After deleting that small garbled message the stuttering has disappeared.
My point is..There are THREE places to check for voicemails, TV, website, and *86.
I hope what worked for me will help someone else.
