VERIZON USAGE VERIFICATION

Has anyone else had an issue with the Usage Verification department?  I got an e-mail so I called and they requested that I make a cash payment at locations which are not at all close to my home where I would have to pay a fee.  I am disabled and I can barely walk much less drive.  When I explained that to the agent, he said I could pay with a card, but they would not post the payment for 10 days to release my services, regardless of the account being current.  I called the Customer Finance Department and they told me that if I make a card payment, it posts immediately as per normal procedure.  Basically, they blamed the ridiculousness on the same division that initially blamed it on them.  This is ridiculous.  For all of the headache, I could have stayed with Xfinity or gone with DirectTV.....

I'm a little concerned our usage verification department would ask you to go somewhere to make a cash payment

Our usage verification team should only be asking you to make a payment, if the charges are valid, in any fashion.  Were they able to confirm with you, that the charges they were calling about were valid?

Yes, the charges were valid. When I asked them about the hold, they said I had to call another department... Who su sequentially redirected me back to them. No one seems to be able to offer an explanation and honestly this is getting ridiculous. I filed a bbb complaint already. If I were not under contract, I would cancel my service. I have never had any merchant to tell me a hold is placed on credit cards and to drive 15 minutes away to pay cash...my contract can't end soon enough....

this sounds like a scam artist pretending to be verizon to try and get some money out of you. and threatening you with impending disconnection if you dont take an immediate action.....when you say "I got an e-mail so I called...." in your original post, did you call the number listed in the email? (which could be a scammer pretending to be verizon) or did you call 1800verizon? when you point to links in the email (with out clicking on them), do they display valid verizon.com addresses in the lower left of your screen?
