It may be that Comcast has not fully released your phone number in their system.
Can others on a non comcast system get thru without any issues ?
Since I don't know what service everyone has, I can only comment on the 3 that told me they receive a message that my line is not working. All three have comcast triple play.
So my question is: how to get comcast to release my number when Verizon told me they handled everything and I don't have to worry about anything?
I would first give Verizon a Call and tell them that you are having problems receiving calls.
Be prepared for a Finger Pointing Session where bith Verizon and Comcast blame each other.
