I had 3 of my friends call me on my cell phone to tell me that they cannot get my landline (part of FIOS bundle) to receive their calls.  Coincidently they are all comcast triple play customers.  I do not know how many other calls I am missing.  Any suggestions? My service is new and 2 Verizon reps have stopped by to check on my satisfaction and I mentioned this problem to them.  As of today, it still exists.

Did you port your Landline Phone Number over from another Carrier when you switched to FIOS or was it a new Phone Number ?

I stayed with my phone number from comcast which was originally a verizon number which I had for over 30 years.  I am using my Panasonic 6.0 phones which the base is plugged into the wall jack and works just fine.

It may be that Comcast has not fully released your phone number in their system.

Can others on a non comcast system get thru without any issues ?

Since I don't know what service everyone has, I can only comment on the 3 that told me they receive a message that my line is not working.  All three have comcast triple play.

So my question is: how to get comcast to release my number when Verizon told me they handled everything and I don't have to worry about anything?

I would first give Verizon a Call and tell them that you are having problems receiving calls.

Be prepared for a Finger Pointing Session where bith Verizon and Comcast blame each other.
