New Program Guide Too Dark

What changes were made to the program guide other than making it darker?  The darker guide is harder to read and the contrast between the colors is harder to see especially on a SD tv.  Also, when I push the "Guide" button it always defaults back to the "All Channels" guide instead of the last guide viewed.  When I push the "Guide" button, I want it to go directly to my "Favorites 1" guide.  I now have to push the "Guide" button and then the "Favorites" button to get to my "Favorites 1" guide.

1) The Guide colors were changed because people complained about the previous change. When and if we see another update to the Guide they will probably change again, to something else some people will like and some won't. I have had the 1.9.1 Guide now for several weeks, I didn't particulary care for the colors when I first got it, but now I am used to it (but given the option, I would go back to the previous Guide, I think it was much more modern and easier for me to read).

As to new functions, I don't see much in the Guide itself beyond the color change, but I really, really like being able to set the display time for the Info banner when I change channels and a different time for when I hit the OK or FiOS TV buttons. The 8-10 seconds it displayed before was far too long  IMO.

2) Since you are using an SD TV, have you gone into the Menu and made any adjustments to address your use of an SD TV? If not you might want to, it can make a big readability difference on an SD TV.

3) The 1.9.1 update reset one (or maybe two) of the options that control how the Favorites button works and the setting is retained. So go back into the Menu and make sure your Favorites settings are still the way they were, and make sure Last Viewed Guide State is set to Enabled (I believe the update unenabled this). I think maybe I needed to update the Modes setting too, not sure on that.

Anyway, I suspect the new colors will grow on you, there are several new terrific features included in 1.9.1, and you most definitely can get the Favorites function to work the way it previously did.

Isn't an SD TV analog?  Analog TVs are very obsolete by now and can't accommodate the HD graphics because the resolution of an analog TV is limited with the pixels.  I speak from experience on that.  That's pretty much trying to run updated programs using outdated equipment.  It sounds like the real solution to that problem is to get a flatscreen.

Interesting -

When the new guide was released and people complained about the color scheme and font size, they were told to calm down and give the new guide a change to "grow' on them.

They were assured that months of painstaking research and testing were done and that the colors are great and the fonts are just right.

Now we get the High Contrast color scheme and it is the only option provided.

This means the naysayers and oh so helpful experts must have been wrong and that the original guide was a mess and unuseable as was complained about, else why change it and not give any options for any other color scheme?

Here we go with another year of waiting for a fix...

And yes, the other functional improvements are nice and definitely welcome.
