They roll out by DAC.  DAC 1 is essentially all of Texas and California.

Some in California are confirming a slow spin (limited number of customers) of 1.9a.  Usually a week later the rest wil occur.  Of course that isn't what happened in NJ and Philly, which got a slow spin, but now a delay.

So, Joe, "going west" you say...  well since I just learned what a VHO is and a DAC is... (not channels in the Fios line up if anyone else is curious)

I think mine is VHO 3 / DAC 1 for the greater los angeles area (I'm right on the LA / OC border)  is that even correct, can you confirm that I did my research correctly?

How about that region? are we talking I will wake up and be pleasently delighted sometime this week?  Or are we talking, I best put my esata external HD back in the box and sell it on ebay, because I'm not gonna get to use is till Halloween, and so by then there will be a new fall line up of external hard drives that are cheaper/bigger.

Waiting with baited breath... and I'm not just talking about shark week.

Best I am permitted to say without getting taken out back and beaten is... you shouldn't have to wait until Halloween to use your eSATA drive.

Someone in Southern California reported on another forum today that he just got it. Verizon sends it to a few in an area one week, sees if there are any issues, and if not distributes it to all  the next week. So unless there are issues you probably will get it next week. And so will I.....

Edit: After I posted the above, I saw on the Menu on my DVR a banner at the top saying that I would be getting the "New FiOS TV". So I think that confirms what I said above, I am hoping to see the new 1.9 around the middle of next week Smiley Very Happy

Thank you!  I do appreciate your response.  I really like verizon, and I'm looking forward to expanded storage, because I do everything on DVR!

I was just disheartened recently when my MotoSTB died and I lost all of my recordings for 6+ months of shows and movies...

Maybe in the mean time you can get the big wigs to throw us all a few more free preview weekends of movie/premium channels.

Here's hoping.  :^)

Be aware that even with expanded (external) storage, if your DVR dies, you will not be able to access the recordings on the external device AFTER replacing the DVR. The external storage is married to the DVR. If you plug external storage into a different DVR it will reformat the drive.

They need to change this from DVR to account.
