I'm not bothered about having to figure out new options but I was just wondering myself why there wasn't any announcement or information posted about this ahead of time so we would know when this was coming.  Or was there and I missed it?  Many of us have busy lives so I only knew about this by surprise.

It appears as though not only the guide is darker but the TV screen is darker on all of my TVs with this upgrade. Obviously this adjustment was not tested properly. Go back to the old or give us the option not to be downgraded I mean upgraded.

Why did my overall picture quality get darker with this upgrade? does anyone know?

My overall picture quality is exactly the same as before.  Perhaps there are settings on your TV that need to be re-set.

Agreed, have had 1.9.1 for a little over two weeks now. No change at all in the picture, just the color changes on the Guide and Menu and some nice functional enhancements in a few areas like how the Last button works when you are viewing a recording and being able to set the display times for the Info bar - there are additional enhancements but those two are the ones I most care about, at least for now.

I'm suspecting too that if some customers are still trying to watch Fios on an analog TV which is now obsolete, then that would be the reason for these complaints, simply because the resolution on an analog TV is limited and is unable to accommodate the HD graphics.

The issue is with screens 32" or smaller.  The HD guide is clear and legible but the brightness of the text against the darker background is too much contrast and becomes annoying to painful to try and read.

No computer or electronic device with a user interface limits you to only one color scheme.  This change, while seemingly an improvement, is a programming failure and needs to be fixed as it should have been before - with a theme or scheme option to pick from a scheme that will work for everyone.

That's funny. I wish my TiVO HD had more than one color scheme. I don't think the newer models do either. Do other providers' STBs and DVRs have multiple color schemes? Now I do wish we had a way to adjust it, but it just isn't there yet. Everyone wishes it were adjustable, so stand in line.Smiley Sad I am rather happy with my 1.9 Cisco colors, but I imagine others would say they are to dark. Now perhaps that is what the 1.91 is modeled after. Really I couldn't tell you. I just need to wait and see what if 1.91 brings for me. We are always a bit behind the Motorola.

What's funny is how people who had a problem with 1.9 color scheme were told it was tested and was a definite improvement but now the new color scheme is being touted as the best thing since sliced bread and once again, anyone with an issue must need medical treatment or need a brand new 60" Kuro Plasma in order to understand how great this color scheme is.

Funny indeed

Now probably those are the people who are complaining. You know the ones that thought 1.9 was better than sliced bread. Now that it was made darker with more contrast, perhaps those people are not happy. Those who though it was to bright are probably pleased. Perhaps with revision 2.0 in 2020 everyone will be happy? Oh well. I'm not complaining yet, I just hope they don't change mine, and leave the Cisco color scheme alone.

Sorry you not pleased. I guess my feedback is neutral right now, until it comes my way. As far as it being tested, it was tested, and tested, and tested, as far as the HD menu, content, features, and options. But everyone sees colors differently. I take my glasses off and they look bright and blurry. I can't see the guide at all. Started at 40. Believe me I wanted to test, and could have, but I was not in the right area. .Smiley Indifferent

Not going to argue with you and wish it were adjustable.
